Disney Cruise Line Hulks Up Marvel Day at Sea for 2017 and 2018

Disney Cruise Line’s previously announced Marvel Day at Sea theme cruises, like its “Star Wars” Day at Sea offerings, is already expanding for 2017 as well as 2018 with additional dates and programming.
Marvel Day at Sea will first embark on the Disney Magic on seven super voyages from New York City this upcoming fall 2017. Newly revealed onboard will be a Doctor Strange show in the Walt Disney Theatre and meet-and-greets with Black Panther and Loki during a special sea day. Iron Man will also make his onboard debut during the theme cruises.

The theatrical arrival of Doctor Strange will follow his story from doubt-filled to magical while he exhibits his newfound mystic arts. The stage event will conclude with a battle between the Doctor and the Dark Dimension with the help of guests.
The cruise line has also announced another eight sailings will feature Marvel Day at Sea in 2018 leaving on eight departures from Miami, Florida. The entertaining theme cruises this year and next will feature an assembly of Marvel characters, a dramatic deck part, youth activities, exclusive merchandise and special food and beverage items.
Among the entertainment will be the chance to see Marvel Cinematic Universe films and Disney XD shows screened onboard including “Marvel’s Avengers Assemble,” “Marvel’s Ultimate Spider-Man” and “Marvel’s Guardians of the Galaxy.”

The complete lineup of characters on the Disney Magic will encompass Spider-Man, Captain America, Thor, Doctor Strange, Iron Man, Black Panther, Loki and others for photo-ops; and family activities will include trivia games while kids enjoy games and arts and crafts in the Marvel’s Avengers Academy in Disney’s Oceaneer Club. The final deck party will feature special pyrotechnics, lighting, sound effects and, of course, a final appearance from the day’s superheroes and villains.
Marvel Day at Sea 7- or 8-night departures for 2017 are scheduled from New York City on October 6, 14, 28; November 4, 11 and 18, 2017; all heading to Castaway Cay and Port Canaveral, Florida for Walt Disney World access. There will also be one 7-night sailing from NYC going to Charlottetown, Sydney and Halifax in Canada on October 21, 2017. Then in 2018 from Miami, Marvel Day at Sea will be showcased on January 7, 21; February 4, 18; March 18; April 1, 15 and 29 with 5-night cruises to Castaway Cay and either Cozumel, Mexico or Grand Cayman.
