In keeping with its strategy to provide member agencies with increasing numbers of socially responsible vacation options for their clients, Ensemble Travel Group has formed a preferred supplier partnership with Carnival Corporation’s tenth and newest brand, Fathom.
In all likelihood, the new partnership with Fathom, which will provide travelers with volunteer experiences, will also enable Ensemble agents to expand their client bases in new directions. Most notably, the partnership will invariably assist travel advisors in capturing larger share of business from the socially minded millennial generation.
“The product has great potential for group development among service/mission/community groups that may be new to cruising, has a strong appeal to Millennials who look to travel with purpose, and touches the soul of multi-generational cruisers who will cherish an authentic family experience,” said Libbie Rice, Ensemble Travel Group’s co-president. “More and more consumers want to ‘make meaning’ with their travels, and now our members have an exciting new product that answers this need.”
Fathom’s president, Tara Russell, stressed the one-of-a-kind nature the Fathom vacation experience will offer travelers. “Fathom is a different kind of cruise that combines your love of travel with your desire to make a difference,” she said. “We are eager for Ensemble’s members and customers to become immersed in the Fathom experience to learn, serve and flourish while making enduring, sustainable societal contributions.”
Ensemble members attending the consortium’s annual conference it the Omni Orlando Resort at ChampionsGate Oct. 25 to 29 will have the opportunity to participate in extensive Fathom travel product-training sessions.
Fathom is scheduled to debut in April and will operate sailings to the Dominican Republic roundtrip from Miami aboard the Adonia, a 710-passenger ship from the P&O Cruises fleet.
In June, Carnival Corp. received U.S. approval to operate Fathom cruises to Cuba beginning in May 2016. Fathom will operate on itineraries to both destinations. In May, it will launch cruises that operate roundtrip from Miami to Cuba. The vessel offer itineraries to both the Dominican Republic and Cuba.
