The Disney Cruise Line Blog is reporting that Disney Cruise Line is upping the cost of its future cruise vouchers as of Dec. 5, 2015.
Disney’s future cruise voucher is essentially an advance cruise deposit that can be made onboard without first selecting a specific sail date. This way guests can get the benefits of booking on the ship before knowing what cruise they will actually take in the future, within 24 months. This placeholder booking was first made available in March 2015, originally priced at $200 per stateroom.
In fact, when I was last onboard the Disney Dream, I purchased such a voucher at the original cost in order to take advantage of 10 percent off the fare (block-out dates apply) and up to a $200 onboard credit. Future cruise vouchers can be assigned to a travel agent for choosing a certain cruise. The only change is that now they can be bought onboard for $50 more, $250 total, still not a bad deal considering the benefits.
