MSC Cruises announced Tuesday that it is increasing its group booking commissions for 2015-'16 bookings on the MSC Divina.
The company said it will pay an 18 percent flat commission for groups of eight or more cabins sailing the Caribbean on the Divina. The offer is for groups booked by Jan. 15, 2015 for sailings between Nov. 11, 2015 and April 9, 2016. MSC said it will honor that rate for any groups already booked that meet this criteria.
The offer also includes a waiver of good faith deposit until March 31, 2015; up to $100 shipboard credit per balcony stateroom; two amenity points to use toward of the amenity of the agent's choice such as cocktail parties and bonus commissions; one free cabin for every 13 full fare guests; and matching of any competitor's best group offer that matches nights and itinerary of the Divina.
"Travel agents are critical to our success at MSC Cruises," said MSC executive vice president of sales, PR and guest services Ken Muskat. "We greatly value our travel partners and work hard to make sure we're making it as easy as possible for the trade community to work with us and get rewarded for their efforts. Increasing the commission paid on groups is one more way we are able to show our appreciation to the travel agents supporting us."
