Cruise Line & Cruise Ship Royal Caribbean International Patrick Clarke March 08, 2017

Royal Caribbean International introduced Symphony of the Seas on Wednesday, revealing the long-awaited name and details of its fourth Oasis-class cruise ship.
With a gross register tonnage of 230,000, it will be the largest cruise ship ever.
The cruise line confirmed that Symphony of the Seas will arrive in April 2018 before sailing the Mediterranean in the spring and summer of 2018, making stops in Barcelona, Palma de Mallorca, Provence, Florence, Rome and Naples.
In the fall of 2018, the ship will cross the Atlantic Ocean to its homeport in PortMiami, where Royal Caribbean has just broken ground on the 170,000-square-foot "Crown of Miami" cruise terminal in Terminal A. The cruise line said it will be the most innovative cruise facility in the U.S. when completed.
Symphony of the Seas will be joined by its sister ship Allure of the Seas in Miami.
From Miami, Symphony of the Seas will alternate between seven-night eastern and western Caribbean itineraries featuring stops in St. Maarten, St. Thomas, Puerto Rico and the Bahamas.
Confirmed amenities aboard the 1,188-foot-long ship include a FlowRider surf simulator, an ice skating rink, a rock climbing wall, a Splashaway Bay aqua park, a Vitality at Sea spa and an Ultimate Abyss slide with a new twist.
Some of the Symphony of the Seas' more than 20 dining options will include Chops Grille, Jamie's Italian, Izumi, Solarium Bistro and Sabor.
