And then there were two.
As Scenic Luxury Cruise & Tours anticipate the arrival of not just one but now a pair of Discovery Yachts, the luxury line is in full promotional mode with a 2019/2020 itineraries brochure as well as early booking sales.
The Scenic Eclipse will lead the newly expanded fleet with early-bird offers such as the opportunity to reserve now and save up to 10 percent off the full fare. Other specials that are available include a complimentary Deposit Protection Plan (ordinarily costing $250), Early Payment Discount (ranging from a $300 to $1,000 per person rate reduction), free airfare and savings up to 50 percent off select sailings for solo travelers.
The deal deadlines range from August 31, 2018, to October 31, 2018, and offers are subject to availability and combinable with most others.
“We are incredibly excited to be able to offer our guests such a wide array of new itineraries on a ship that, upon launch this summer, will set a new standard for luxury and innovation,” said VP of US Brand Management, Joelle Davis, in a press release.
“And with the addition of a sister ship in 2020, our adventures will not only take in the world’s most remote regions, including the Northwest Passage, Russia’s White Sea, and Greenland but also explore right here along the East Coast of the USA. We encourage travelers to book early as we have seen very strong demand during Scenic Eclipse’s pre-launch booking period.”
Among the aforementioned itineraries in 2019/2020 will be the Arctic added to the Mediterranean, South America and Europe. Journeys to the Baltic will also be featured.
New destinations encompass the Russian and Canadian Arctic, as well as an expansion of Scenic’s European Arctic routes. On the opposite pole, the line is also debuting new Antarctica in Depth departures. Another of its Antarctica, South Georgia & Falkland Islands one is additionally being tacked on.
Even the Americas will be graced by the Scenic Eclipse’s presence along the Canadian Maritimes and the United States east coast. What’s more, Cuba will return to the mix as will the Caribbean, South America and a transit of the Panama Canal.
Just like the said canal, the Scenic Eclipse fleet itself will also be a wonder. Each ship will carry 228 guests (200 in polar regions) in 114 all-verandah suites. The accommodations will measure in between 345 square feet and 2,659 square feet. Butler service will be on hand for all passengers, and the overall guest-to-staff ratio will be nearly 1:1.
Despite being intimately sized, the vessels will serve up 10 dining options including Asian Fusion, French cuisine and a poolside buffet. Similarly expansive will be a 5,920-square-foot spa complete with a gymnasium and dedicated yoga and Pilates studio. Indoor and outdoor plunge pools will also be available to guests, plus a 240-seat theater.
Other toys will extend to two six-guest helicopters and one six-guest submarine, facilitating further exploration beyond the ship. Technologically improving guest comfort and safety onboard will be zero-speed stabilizer fins that are 50 percent larger than usual, the highest passenger ship ice class rating of Polar Class 6 (Ice Class 1A Super), anchorless stationary positioning via GPS and redundant propulsion, navigation and safety systems, as well as food refrigeration.
