Silversea Cruises has launched Grand Expeditions, which are longer, epic voyages packaged with land adventures.
The luxury expedition company has crafted five 18- to 34-day once-in-a-lifetime trips to places like the Galapagos, Machu Picchu, Antarctica and more starting in October.
The Grand Expeditions begin with an expedition cruise in the Galapágos Islands, before connecting to a land adventure, and ending with another adventure voyage along the coast of Central America, South America, or Antarctica.
The packages combine cruise fares for the luxury expedition ships Silver Galapagos and Silver Explorer at 20 percent savings off the individual published rate. The packages also include hotel accommodations, land tours, return air travel between Ecuador and the Galápagos Islands, intra-tour air travel and ground transportation, and charter flights to Ushuaia, if applicable.
The 18-day "Latin American Delights" will operate Oct. 1-19 and include the Galapagos voyage, a post-cruise overnight in Guayaquil, and a flight to Panama to embark the Silver Explorer for a voyage from Colón to Guayaquil.
The 25-day "South American Sojourn," Oct. 8-Nov. 2, includes the Galapagos cruise followed by a two-night stay in Guayaquil before embarking the Silver Explorer for a voyage from Guayaquil to Valparaiso, Chile.
The 23-day "Frigatebirds, Ice Fields & Fjords" package, Oct. 22-Nov. 14, will include an overnight in Guayaquil after the Galapagos cruise, a flight to and overnight in Santiago, and a cruise from Valparaiso to Ushuaia.
The 34-day "Conquer South America & Antarctica" trip will run Oct. 29-Dec. 2 and the similar but 26-day "Southernmost South America" will operate Nov. 26-Dec. 22. After the Galápagos cruise, guests will go on a seven-night land adventure that includes Machu Picchu and Iguazu Falls, before embarking Silver Explorer in Ushuaia for a voyage to Antarctica.
