Sound Waves: 4 Can't-Miss Music Cruises
Cruise Line & Cruise Ship Celebrity Cruises Jason Leppert August 18, 2016

Whether a fan of good old fashioned rock ’n’ roll or traditional jazz, there is an upcoming theme cruise to get excited about. Here are five coming up soon to check out for yourself.
KISS Kruise VI
Next up from Sixthman, a leader in music festivals at sea, is the KISS Kruise VI on November 4-9, 2016 aboard Norwegian Cruise Line’s theme cruise-friendly Norwegian Pearl.
The lineup includes not only KISS but also Whitford/St. Holmes, Brad Whitford (Aerosmith), Derek St. Holmes (Ted Nugent), Skid Row, King’s X, The Dead Daisies, Enuff Z’Nuff and more.
The headline band will reimagine their 1982 Creatures Tour in the ship’s main Stardust Theater.
There’s just one problem. The cruise is entirely sold out. However, in order to still join in on the fun including face painting, a tattoo parlor, photo-ops with Simmons’ axe bass and artist meet-and-greets, there is a waiting list that can be joined as cancellations do open up last minute availability.

The Rock Boat XVII
For more rock music at sea still open for booking, Sixthman is also hosting The Rock Boat XVII on February 10-15, 2017 on Norwegian Cruise Line’s Norwegian Jade, and an additional seven acts were just added to the roster. Joining host Sister Hazel, Andy Grammer, Ben Rector, Better Than Ezra and others will now be Parachute, Stephen Kellogg & The South West North East, The Trews, Carbon Leaf, firekid, Knox Hamilton and Headphone Disco.
Bands will perform live across five stages and perhaps even collaborate along the way, and, of course, there will be the chance for fans to spend some quality time meeting their favorite musicians, all while enjoying Harvest Caye, Belize and Costa Maya, Mexico in the Caribbean.

The Jazz Cruise
For music of a different kind, The Jazz Cruise will set sail on Celebrity Cruises’ Celebrity Summit from January 28 to February 4, 2017 roundtrip from Ft. Lauderdale, Florida. Entertainment Cruise Productions is putting on the sailing complete with an all stars big band consisting of over two dozen players, plus masters such as Al Jarreau, Jimmy Cobb, Freddy Cole, Eddie Daniels, Lewis Nash, Houston Person, Paquito D’Rivera and lots more.
With so many artists, three to five shows will be playing at once during the festival to be enjoyed by guests wandering casually between sets. Elsewhere, there will be three sessions of Marcus Miller’s Conversations with the Stars interviews, as well as Name That Tune games and other onboard events.
The Contemporary Jazz Cruise
Making The Jazz Cruise before even better is the chance to stay on the Celebrity Summit for back-to-back sailings for The Contemporary Jazz Cruise that immediately follows on February 4-11, 2017, again roundtrip from Ft. Lauderdale, Florida. Also hosted by Entertainment Cruise Productions will be Pat Metheny, Marcus Miller, Terence Blanchard, Robert Glasper, Gregory Porter, Dianne Reeves and over a dozen more.
Besides a collection of main shows, Night Music with David Sanborn will present late set tunes and jam sessions, and comedian Alonzo Bodden will tickle guests’ funny bones into the wee hours as well. Just like on the preceding cruise, there will also be an additional three sessions of Marcus Miller’s Conversations with the Stars.
