Uniworld Boutique River Cruise Collection is tossing its hat into the TV sponsorship arena. The line will make its debut as founding corporate underwriter of "Amanpour & Company."
The new nightly series premieres nationwide in July 2018 on PBS.
The series features CNN Chief International Correspondent, Christiane Amanpour. The format will be a late- night public affairs discussion show, focused on topical issues. In addition to influencers in the headlines, it will include analysis from a panel of contributors. Among them: author, history professor and journalist Walter Isaacson, NPR host Michel Martin, PBS NewsHour Weekend anchor Hari Sreenivasan, and journalist and commentator Alicia Menendez.
"Amanpour & Company" is a co-production of CNN International and WNET, the country's flagship PBS station.
Uniworld CEO and President Ellen Bettridge said that the line and PBS are a good match.
"As a brand and an experience, we [Uniworld] are dedicated to the highest standards of service and believe PBS cares for their audience with a similar passion and respect. Trust is very important to our customers and in large part, it's why we chose to make our television debut here," said Bettridge. "Curious, well-educated and affluent, that's the PBS audience and it's ours too."
Bettridge added that the "bold, new direction" to increase brand awareness with the PBS audience will also strengthen relations with agents.
"With beautiful imagery and a 'contact your travel professional' call-to-action, our new spots build awareness and drive bookings. With ships on 23 rivers in 24 countries worldwide, their expertise is essential in matching the right itinerary to the right guest and we look forward to Uniworld's debut on 'Amanpour & Company'," said Bettridge.
