Barbados will host the Top Gear Festival, a motorsports event based on the British car enthusiasts’ television show featuring top performance cars and drivers, at the Bushy Park Circuit on May 17 and 18, 2014.

The festival is an outgrowth of the popular "Top Gear" show that runs on the BBC. A U.S. version runs on The History Channel.

Previous Top Gear attendees include two-time MotoGP world champion Casey Stoner, two-time Formula 1 world champion Mika Hakkinen, rally driver Ken Block  and F1 race winner David Coulthard.

“We look forward to welcoming a wide audience to the island with fans expected to travel from the U.K., North America, Europe, Caribbean and Brazil," said Richard Sealy, Barbados’ minister of tourism and transportation.
