Destination & Tourism Donald Wood March 24, 2017

For travelers looking to visit Niagara Falls this spring, officials have announced that the Maid of the Mist vessels will launch on the earliest date in the history of the tourist attraction.
This is the second consecutive season of historic early starts.
The 2017 itinerary is scheduled to open Saturday, April 1, at 9 a.m. local time, with a launch from the Niagara Falls, New York, landing. Tours will operate through May 19 between 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. local time on weekdays and between 9 a.m. to 6 p.m. local time on the weekends. They will continue throughout the summer and into the fall before ending November 5.
Ticket prices for the Maid of the Mist voyages are $18.25 for adults and $10.65 for children between six and 12 years old. Children five and under will sail for free with an accompanying adult.
“Maid of the Mist VI and Maid of the Mist VII are ready to navigate the waters of the Lower Niagara River to the Maid of the Mist Pool at the base of the Horseshoe Falls,” Maid of the Mist president Christopher Glynn said in a statement.
“Our captains, crew members and associates are prepared to welcome guests from around the world as we build on last year's record season, when 1.6 million visitors boarded our iconic vessels. Our guests will take with them an experience that will last a lifetime.”
