Hoteloogle: Sydney the Most Popular New Year’s Eve Venue

Sydney garnered the highest occupancy for New Year’s Eve bookings (98 percent) while Vienna ranked first in pricing for a suite at the Palais Hansen Kempinski ($20,721 for one night), according to Hoteloogle, a hotel search engine.
Dubai and Istanbul followed closely on Vienna’s heels with a $14,700-per-night charge at the Al Faris Hotel Apartments in Dubai and $8,772 per night at the House Apart Tunel Hotel in Istanbul.
Seventy-two percent of Dubai hotels were fully booked for New Year’s Eve while occupancy at Istanbul hotels came in at 40 percent.
New York City occupancy stood at 87 percent, with Berlin and Amsterdam beating out the Big Apple at 94 percent.
Conversely, Madrid and Hong Kong featured much lower occupancies. Madrid’s occupancies stood at 56 percent and Hong Kong at 63 percent.
