Kenya Boosts Wildlife Park Fees for Conservation Funding

The Kenya Wildlife Service increased the fees for use of its game preserves to “keep up with the increasing demands for improved infrastructure for visitors and residents as well as maintaining the ecological integrity of the wildlife habitats within Kenya,” according to a statement.
The new fees, which will apply to all visitors through Dec. 31, are:
- $90 for Premium Parks, which include Amboseli and Nakuru, up from $75 previously;
- $75 for Wilderness Parks, including Tsavo East and West, Meru and Kora, up from $60;
- $65 for Aberdare National Park and Kihari Gate, up from $50; $50 for Urban Park in Nairobi, up from $40;
- $25 for Sanctuaries, including Nairobi Orphanage, Kisumu Impala, Nairobi Safari Walk, up from $20 and $15; and
- $30 for Scenic and Special Interest parks, including Hells Gate, Elgon, Ol-Donyo Sabuk, Longonot, up from $25 and $20.
