It only comes around once every four years, so you should try to make the most out of Leap Year. Travel companies from hotels to tour operators are certainly taking advantage of this extra day of the year with a variety of travel promotions, deals and savings that are only good on Feb. 29.

Ashford Castle

At Ashford Castle in Ireland ladies have the chance to take the “leap of faith,” a leap year tradition where women have the chance to propose to their men. Ashford Castle’s Leap of Faith Package includes two nights’ accommodation, full Irish breakfast for two daily, a five course dinner in the George V Dining Room, a couples’ spa treatment, film screening of the movie “Leap Year” in the Ashford Castle cinema, a secret proposal on the big screen and champagne upon arrival.

Borgata Hotel, Casino & Spa

The Borgata is offering two specials for leap year: a special flash sale and a hotel package.

The hotel package includes an overnight stay in a Classic Room, Spa Toccare mini massage and facial, two drinks at one of the bars and two comedy club tickets. The rate of $229 for this package is valid only on Feb. 29.

The Boragata is also having a Leap Year flash sale. Guests can book a Classic Room for $79 per night or a Fiore Suite for $109 per night for travel between Feb. 29-April 28, 2016.

Slieve Donard Resort & Spa

At the Slieve Donard Resort & Spa on the Irish Sea coast in Newcastle Bay, the Loving Leap Year Package includes overnight accommodation, full Irish breakfast, a three-course meal, a bottle of prosecco, and a 55-minute Espa treatment per person.

The resort, which offers views of the Mountains of Mourne and is home to the Royal County Down Golf Course, is offering the package on the nights of Feb. 28 and 29.

Shorebreak Hotel 

Kimpton’s Shorebreak Hotel in Huntington Beach, Calif., is offering a special $29 rate for stays over Leap Year. Suites are available for $229.

The property is located just 100 feet from the beach and a block away from bustling Main Street in Surf City USA. The hotel offers complimentary beach towels, chairs and beach toys for rent and also has table tennis set up at the hotel for anyone up for a quick pick up game.

Friendly Planet Travel

Friendly Planet Travel is offering a special Leap Year sale. Travelers can save up to $700 on the Dazzling Dubai tour. The leisurely-paced package features and independent stay Dubai with optional excursions to Burj Khalifa, a desert safari, a visit to Abu Dhabi and more. Rates start at $1,299, including airfare, with more than 10 gateways available through Emirates in the U.S. The special rate will be available from midnight on Feb. 29 for 24 hours.

Hyatt Centric The Loop Chicago

Hyatt Centric The Loop Chicago will offer a one-day booking special. On Feb. 29, guests booking a stay for travel through March 31, 2016, will receive $29 off of their booking. Room upgrades are also just $29 and a Hyatt Suite can be booked for an additional $229. Use promo code ELEV16 when booking online.

Whiteface Lodge

In the high peaks of Lake Placid, Whiteface Lodge is offering 29 percent savings on stays, dining and spa services during “Leap Weak,” Feb. 28 through March. 3. Reservations must be made online using code LEAP29.

For those staying overnight, rates include full breakfast daily and access to all resort amenities, including valet parking, the pool, the fitness center, the game room, the movie theater and, on weekends, Kamp Kanu, the Lodge’s supervised children’s program.

1000 Islands Harbor Hotel

Starting at midnight on Feb. 28, through midnight on Leap Day, Feb. 29, guests can book rooms for $29 off the best available rate for stays between March 1-April 30, 2016. 1000 Islands Harbor Hotel offers a full-service resort experience designed to appeal to couples, adventurers, families, foodies and nautical-minded travelers looking for a picturesque getaway. 

Fort Lauderdale Marriott Pompano Beach Resort & Spa

Fort Lauderdale Marriott Pompano Beach is offering special Leap Day deals at its spa and restaurant.

SiSpa is offering visitors 29 percent off treatments booked on Feb. 29 for the month of March.

McCoy’s Restaurant is offering a $29 Leap Year Three-Course Menu. Selections include Miso Glazed Salmon with garlic roasted baby bok choy, jasmine rice and Napa cabbage slaw; Roasted Chicken Breast with maple-pomegranate glaze, sausage and sweet potato hash, and roasted shiitake mushrooms; and New York-Style Cheesecake with berry compote.
