Myanmar’s Burma Boating to Add Luxury Yacht for Charters
Destination & Tourism James Ruggia February 21, 2014

Myanmar’s Bergui Archipelago, which was just officially opened by the Burmese government in 2012, adds some 800 karst islands to the Southeast Asian travel scene.
Much like the islands that lay in the Andaman Sea off of Thailand, the Berguis just add another cultural aspect. The experience is highly exclusive; only about 1,700 tourists visit these waters annually, nearly all on luxury yachts. Burma Boating s the leading operator of explorations of the Berguis.
The company is expanding its fleet with a new luxury schooner. The schooner will accommodate between 12 and 14 guests. The company’s existing boat is the 85-feet long Meta IV, which is constructed from Thai teak.
It was built in 1998 as a personal yacht and reconfigured as a luxury charter vessel. The 10 passengers the boat carries are served by a European captain, a Thai chef and a crew member.
