Qatar keeps improving its hospitality ranking, rising to the top of the list of Middle East destinations, according to survey results from the Guest Experience survey in the Middle East Report compiled by Olery.
“Qatar’s hospitality sector has long been a key attraction to the destination, and today it stands as proof that our collective efforts over the past few years to enhance the sector were on track,” said Hassan Al Ibrahim, Qatar Tourism Authority’s (QTA) acting chairman.
“We are grateful to our partners in the private sector for their willingness to invest in developments that have today made Qatar’s a model hospitality industry for the wider region,” Al Ibrahim added.
Olery’s report measures overall guest satisfaction, analyzing aspects of tourists’ accommodation experiences, including service, location, cleanliness, room quality and value for money.
In Qatar, hotel rooms were rated highly, receiving a score of 8.9 out of 9, which places the country at the top of the list, regionally. The country also received high marks in the rankings of cuisine (8.9), service (8.9) and facilities (8.5).
Its accommodation options were popular among a variety of travelers, including families, business travelers, and couples.
“The Olery report and the guests who have stayed in Qatar’s hotels have recognized that the industry’s top selling points are providing quality facilities, professional service, and authentic experiences,” said Al Ibrahim. “These elements continue to be our priority as we work with our partners to build new and diverse tourism and hospitality products, as outlined in the Next Chapter of the Qatar National Tourism Sector Strategy.”
