Quebec City Winter Carnival Celebrates 60th Anniversary

The Quebec City Winter Carnival will celebrate its 60th Anniversary next year with an array of new and enhanced activities. It runs from Jan. 31 to Feb. 16.
Parades in Charlesbourg and Québec’s Upper Town will boast new animations, costumes and floats Feb. 8 and 15.
A new layout has been designed to make the nightlife scene more enjoyable. Visitors will find ice bars, ArcticVillage spas and braziers. On Friday and Saturday nights DJs and live bands will perform.
New ice sculptures will be created, with a Canadian competition held form Jan. 31 to Feb. 2. An international competition will take place Feb. 4 to 9. Visitors can watch sculptors at work in the evenings during the Nuits blanches of the TELUS International Snow Sculpture Competition Feb. 8 to 15.
Other attractions include an ice slide, sleigh rides and dogsled rides.
On Tuesdays and Thursdays visitors will be able to skate with the king of carnival, Bonhomme Carnaval, at the Place D'Youville.
The St-Hubert Derby will feature some of Quebec’s best racehorse riders on February 14, 15 and 16.
