On Thursday, Universal Orlando Resort officials announced new details about the “Skull Island: Reign of Kong” attraction that has the amusement park industry buzzing.
Scheduled to open in the summer of 2016, Reign of Kong will give a whole new generation the opportunity to learn about the King Kong legacy and what has kept the character alive in moviegoers' imaginations since the great ape's first appearance in 1933.

Details have been scarce as construction continued behind the ominous wall between Jurassic Park and Toon Lagoon, but now officials from the theme park have revealed a few nuggets of info about what they are calling “one of the longest Universal ride experiences ever created.”
The attraction starts off at the campsite of the 8th Wonder Expedition Company where guests prepare to explore Skull Island. As the attraction begins to enter the unexplored regions of the island, guests will begin to notice that they are not alone and something mysterious is taking place.
Once aboard a vehicle meant to take you to the wildest portions of the island, passengers will find themselves looking at ancient inscriptions on a temple wall that will lead to a series of caves winding deep into Skull Island.

Eventually, riders come in contact with several huge animals fighting with each other, but they soon turn on the passengers and go to attack before an even larger character—possibly King Kong— comes to the rescue.
Even if you have never enjoyed one of the classic King Kong movies or haven’t seen the recent remakes, the attraction details revealed by Universal Orlando should be enough to get any theme part enthusiast excited.
Universal Orlando has stated that more details will be made available soon, but for more information and further updates, check out the official website of Skull Island: Reign of Kong.
