Fans of roller coasters are particular about what makes them so excited about the thrill rides, but enthusiasts will admit the unparalleled joy and anticipation associated with the opening of a new attraction.
For those lucky enough to be in attendance on Saturday, April 25, Tempesto-Busch Gardens Williamsburg's newest steel roller coaster-opened to the public and is already turning heads as a unique attraction.
According to the official website of Busch Gardens Williamsburg, the ride reaches a top speed of 63 miles per hour and has a complete inversion at an astounding 154 feet off the ground. Add in a full loop and multiple high-speed rolls, and this is a rush thrill-seekers must experience.

Another reason this roller coaster is so unique is the launch style. While some use lift hills to bring cars to the specified height, many others including the Tempesto use linear synchronous motors.
The difference between Tempesto and other launched coasters is the speed in which the train comes out of the platform. Instead of being fast enough to get up the hill on the first try, the ride sends passengers forward and momentum brings them backwards before falling forward again and reaching the speed necessary to hit the peak of the ride.
Once at the desired height, riders are flipped upside down before making a drop at almost 90 degrees into an awaiting loop. The Tempesto may not be the longest roller coaster, but it packs a serious punch in the short time passengers are aboard.
