Where to Find the Most Wallet-Friendly Destinations
Destination & Tourism Janeen Christoff January 12, 2017

Kayak has released its 2017 Travel Hacker Guide and the news is good for those who want to save on vacation. There are some super affordable deals to some pretty amazing destinations.
Topping the list of most affordable places is Cartagena, Colombia, where flights are 47 percent lower than other international destinations, according to Kayak. The median airfare is less than $500 and the cheapest flights are May.
Kayak’s hacker tip: “Get the party started on a chiva (party bus). For about $15, you can tour the city, enjoy an open bar, listen to live music and make new friends.”
Another South American destination is number two on the list. Quito, Ecuador, flights are 30 percent lower than other international destinations, with prices hovering around $500.
Kayak’s hacker tip: “The Founding of Quito celebration in November is the city's biggest event with parades, bullfighting, flamenco dancing and plenty of music.”
The ever-popular country of Iceland also made the list at number three. Roundtrip flights to the country also hover around the $500 mark — but there are often deals from low-cost carriers.
Kayak’s hacker tip: “Cultural Night in August comes with free concerts, fireworks and friendly locals who open their doors to strangers, offering refreshments and traditional waffles.”
