10 Biggest Panels at Comic-Con International 2017
Entertainment Jason Leppert July 18, 2017

On the heels of last weekend’s D23 Expo 2017 is the monster of all fan conventions in San Diego, California: Comic-Con International 2017.
The most talked about panels are always reserved for the epic 6,500-person Hall H, and below are the ten most-anticipated. I’ll again be on site for a portion of the event and will report back on the experience afterward.
20th Century Fox
20th Century Fox will kick off Thursday. The official Comic-Con schedule has yet to announce exactly what will be showcased at the one-hour presentation, but an internet search for the studio’s upcoming genre pictures gives a pretty clear sense of what can be expected.
Among the most likely contenders to make a showing are “Kingsman: The Golden Circle,” “Maze Runner: The Death Cure,” “The Predator” and, of course, “X-Men: Dark Phoenix,” “X-Men: The New Mutants” and “Deadpool 2.”
With Comic-Con perennial favorite Hugh Jackman as the lead, “The Greatest Showman” might even come up. So could “Murder on the Orient Express” with Johnny Depp and Daisy Ridley’s involvement. Although further out, the planned sequel to “Alien: Covenant” might also be discussed.
Netflix
Showing how remarkably far Netflix has come at producing its own content, the streaming service will present “Bright” along with stars Will Smith, Joel Edgerton, Noomi Rapace, Lucy Fry and Edgar Ramirez as well as director David Ayer. The movie is set in an alternate reality where humans, orcs, elves and fairies have always coexisted.
The Japanese manga-inspired thriller film “Death Note” will also be previewed.

Warner Bros. Pictures
Four really epic films are slated for the Saturday Warner Bros. Pictures panel with Steven Spielberg's “Ready Player One,” “Blade Runner 2049,” “Justice League” and “Aquaman.”
The WB is known for taking up the entire space of Hall H with impressive projection screens on nearly all sides of the audience, but the scheduled celebrities will likely make a bigger splash. Ryan Gosling and Harrison Ford, as well as Ben Affleck, Gal Gadot and many more, are anticipated.
Marvel Studios
While the official schedule description is vague, the lineup for Marvel Studios as outlined at D23 Expo 2017 includes “Thor: Ragnarok,” “Black Panther,” “Avengers: Infinity War,” “Ant-Man and the Wasp,” “Captain Marvel” and an untitled Avengers sequel through 2019.
At least the first three are sure to have some sort of presence, and I’ve even heard through the grapevine that a whopping 26 cast members plan to be in attendance, which would surpass the the D23 Expo count of 15.

Television
Proving that television is slowly but surely taking over Hall H from the film studios are an even greater number of panels scheduled for broadcast shows.
The most significant over the weekend are “The Big Bang Theory,” “Game of Thrones,” “Stranger Things,” “The Walking Dead,” “Fear the Walking Dead” and “Westworld.”
Announced cast members include Andrew Lincoln, Norman Reedus, Jeffrey Dean Morgan, Lauren Cohan, Danai Gurira, Melissa McBride, Lennie James, Chandler Riggs, Seth Gilliam, Alanna Masterson and Khary Payton from “The Walking Dead,” as well as Ben Barnes, Ingrid Bolso Berdal, Ed Harris, Luke Hemsworth, James Marsden, Thandie Newton, Simon Quarterman, Rodrigo Santoro, Angela Sarafyan, Jimmi Simpson, Tessa Thompson, Evan Rachel Wood, Shannon Woodward and Jeffrey Wright from “Westworld."
The studios—even those not presenting in Hall H—have a large presence on the exhibit floor as well. Displays are equally grand and often attract greater crowds. To be sure, I’ll be checking those out too.
