Battle Stormtroopers in Los Angeles

If you want to visit a galaxy far, far away, just cross the street from The Grove.
Chances are if you are in Los Angeles then you are going to visit the famed Farmers Market and Grove anyway, so you may as well battle stormtroopers or become an avatar of John Wick.
That’s the kind of experience promised at the new IMAX VR, featured in a Los Angeles Magazine article that walks you through what awaits at the 157 South Fairfax location.
Basically, it’s as close as we have come to Star Trek’s holodeck.
You step into a slick-looking cubicle, strap on a VR headset and get transported to a fantasy world -- one of which you will be very familiar.
Entitled Star Wars: Trials on Tatooine, you get to wield a lightsaber and battle stormtroopers like an actual Jedi.
Sure, you may look silly to passersby, but these honorable keepers of the force care little for what others think.
The website explains: “Repair the iconic Millennium Falcon on Tatooine, and defend the plucky droid hero R2-D2 from incoming stormtroopers in this captivating experience set after the events of Return of the Jedi.”

IMAX VR shows off what can expect at the Los Angeles location:
You can get tickets here, a link that also highlights the many experiences available at IMAX VR.
Obviously, Star Wars will be a popular option. But you’ll be well taken care of if that particular experience is sold out.
You can show baddies how you handle having your dog taken away from you in a John Wick virtual reality showdown. Or you can walk a tightrope between the Twin Towers like Philippe Petit once did.
Los Angeles Magazine states you will fork over $10 for what amounts to about ten minutes of VR time or, if you like, $25 for a full thirty minutes, which allows you to sample some of the various experiences.
But, you can’t really put a price on harnessing the power of the light side to take down the Empire.
