Carrie Fisher's Family Seeks To Thank In-Flight Medics
Entertainment Rich Thomaselli January 04, 2017

The family of "Star Wars" legend Carrie Fisher is reaching out to United Airlines to help find two emergency medical personnel who jumped into duty when the actress suffered a heart attack on a flight from London on Dec. 23.
Fisher died four days later.
A day after that, her mother, screen legend Debbie Reynolds, also died.
According to TMZ.com, the family would like to thank the two people – one of whom is believed to be a nurse – who jumped into action when cabin crew made an announcement during the flight asking for medical professionals.
Prior to landing at Los Angeles International, the pilot told the control tower that the two passengers were helping an “unresponsive passenger. They’re working on her right now, we’re going to have them seated in about two minutes and we should hopefully be on the deck in about five.”

Fisher’s heart stopped during the flight, and her family believes the efforts of the two people who stepped forward gave them a few extra days with Fisher and allowed them to be with her and say goodbye.
Fisher’s brother, Todd Fisher, told the New York Daily News that he wanted to reach out to the two passengers to show his appreciation and invite them to his sister’s memorial service.
“They need to be invited to the larger event,” Todd Fisher told the Daily News. “They need to be thanked. It was amazing and heroic, what they did. I think it would be very nice to talk to them. I don’t need a blow-by-blow, but we want to extend our thanks. Those people busted their a-- for 20-odd minutes to try to save her. I know it gave us more time to say goodbye.”
