Euston Station Savior Pays For Stranger's Return Ticket Home

Many of us would see a sobbing traveler and simply try to sympathize with his or her respective plight. Sadly, not many would actually try to do something to remedy the situation.
ITV.com reports Martin Gallagher dropped £159, or a little over $196, on securing a return ticket for a person he had never met. According to the report, Gallagher was at London’s Euston Station when he happened upon Grace Georgina sobbing.
Of course, at the time, Georgina was just another person amid the myriad commuters and travelers rushing about the busy station. Instead of running ahead to wherever he was going, the nurse who works at Princess Elizabeth Hospital in Guernsey decided to dig a little deeper.
After discovering the woman had lost her return ticket to Liverpool he purchased what was a ride back home for Georgina without so much as asking how much the fare cost.
£159**. I swear I'm praying with all my heart that this man gets everything he wants in life because he bloody deserves it. pic.twitter.com/ISnnzeeVLe

Georgina states on Twitter: “I do not want to hear anyone EVER say a bad word about people from Liverpool. I lost my return ticket from London and even with a collection receipt…the staff refused to reprint. A man saw me crying down the phone about my night/day and stepped in to pay.”
ITV states Gallagher attempted to make the purchase anonymously but was discovered by a grateful Georgina.
He tells ITV the following on the awesome gesture: “I've got two daughters and all I could think was what if that was my girl and no one was helping her? The whole carriage was just looking at her and no one was helping. She only looked really young - I thought she was about 16 or 17 - and she was getting so upset, hyperventilating. I told the ticket guy not to say anything but she cornered me on the platform after we got off the train. I just said I wanted her to get home safe.”
That’s exactly what he did.
In a world that can often seem cold and unpleasant, it’s wonderful to know there are those people out there who, without asking for fame or luxury, are willing to help someone in obvious need.
