Game of Thrones Pop-Up Bar Comes to Chicago

If you just can’t wait for “winter” to arrive, travel to Chicago to get in on season eight of Game of Thrones a little early.
Replay Lincoln Park, the popular Chicago arcade-bar, is hosting a Game of Thrones pop-up experience through March 3, 2019.
Visitors can experience Chicago’s own incarnation of Westeros and take in art inspired by the show. The event was curated by the Pop Up Squad, a local organization behind a number of pop-ups around the city.
"Our ultimate goal for the pop-ups is to create and curate immersive installation experiences for the local Chicago community," Raquel Hung, one of the artists behind the concept, told Forbes.
"We love the idea that a space can attract so many different people to come together and collectively enjoy and connect with the environment that we’ve created. With this pop up in particular, we were really trying to transform the space so people will feel like they’ve stumbled upon a fantastical world where they can escape the cold, hang out with a life-size dragon, and grab a couple drinks,” Huang added.
The bar has partnered with Bucketlist Chicago for an exclusive package of goodies for GoT fans. While visitors do not have to book tickets for the month-long event, those who do will receive an exclusive GoT goblet and $10 toward a drink of their choice, a commemorative T-shirt, a commemorative print and express entry into the bar on the selected day of the visit.
The timing of the opening of the pop-up event couldn’t be better as it couldn’t feel more like winter in the city as the recent Polar Vortex left residents feeling like they were already residing north of the Wall.
