Justin Bieber (above, photo courtesy Splash News) was detained as he passed through U.S. Customs in Los Angeles on Thursday (April 24) after a trip to Japan.
The 20-year-old singer underwent secondary questioning at LAX airport, which is "routine" for travelers with open criminal cases, the Daily News reports.
"This kid is turning into a male Lindsay Lohan,” an LAX police source said.
The "Boyfriend" singer has since been released.
He's currently facing a DUI charge in Miami Beach and an assault charge in Toronto.
Furthermore, Los Angeles prosecutors are mulling a possibly vandalism case against Justin over an alleged egg assault.
Cops believe Justin egged his nieghbor's mansion in Calabasas, California, on Jan. 9, causing enough damage to warrant a felony prosecution, sources said.
Justin drew criticism during his time in Japan after posting a photo of his visit to a controversial Tokyo war shrine.
The singer apparently didn't know the shrine celebrates World War II leader Gen. Hideki Tojo and other figures later deemed war criminals.
He later deleted the photo and apologized for mistaking the shrine for a place of prayer.
