Sarah Jessica Parker filmed "Sex and the City" in New York City, but she proved why she's a true New Yorker at heart on Wednesday (April 9).

The actress took the subway from the West Village, and despite using public transportation, she wore a pair of heels. (How very Carrie Bradshaw of her!) 

The 49-year-old was seen holding a magazine as she boarded a train in her black peep-toe boots. 

Later in the day, SJP shared a number of photos with fans as she worked on her shoe collection for Nordstrom.

She captioned the photo: "So excited to show off the new @sjpcollection pre-fall styles. Booties. Metallics. And the most perfect pair of ballerina flats. x, sj."

While Sarah opted for the subway on April 9, she's often seen walking her daughters, twins Tabitha and Marion, to school on foot. We can't say we've ever seen a celebrity who's more down-to-Earth.
