Space Mountain Remains Closed After Passenger Climbs Off Ride

Two days after a man climbed off the roller coaster ride while it was in operation, Space Mountain at Disneyland remains closed.
According to an ABC News report, the individual in question, a man in his 20s, was not hurt by walking off the ride.
He was escorted to safety by officials and was able to walk to a first-aid facility in the California park. He was subsequently taken to the hospital.
The incident was reported to the California Division of Occupational Safety. It remains unclear when the ride will be open to the public again. A state agency inspection of Space Mountain is pending.
According to ABC, the passenger at the center of the Disneyland incident "used force to maneuver his way out" of the roller coaster's vehicle, which has lap restraints.
An indoor, space-themed roller coaster in Tomorrowland at Disneyland, Space Mountain opened in 1977. It was the second roller coaster built at Disneyland.
