The weather outside is abysmal and the heater bill is going up, which means it must be time to enjoy another edition of the Sports Illustrated Swimsuit Issue.
According to a press release, the publisher is celebrating its most popular issue with its second annual soiree that will soon take over New York City and Miami.
Fans who enjoy things like parties, models and models at parties might like to partake in the unveiling in 2016’s version of bikini-clad models traveling the world in the name of swimwear.
As you can see from the above image, SI is coming to The Altman Building in New York City on Feb.15 and 16, dubbed Swim City.

Not to be outdone, those in Miami can get in on the “Swim Beach” festivities the very next couple of days: Feb. 17 and 18. That particular event will take place at the apropos setting of Lummus Park on South Beach.
As for expectations, this is what you will find at the free events: “appearances by the 2016 SI Swimsuit model cast; live Q&As; autograph sessions; music from live DJs spinning; a Schick Hydro Barbershop with free shaves and the chance to get a shave from an SI Swimsuit model; a Lane Bryant Swimsuit Lifestyle Bungalow with photo booths, fun social sharing opportunities and a digital shop; a Smith & Forge Cider House with games such as shuffleboard; a VIP Lexus Lounge that will double as a social hub; SI Swimsuit merchandise for sale; and more exclusive experiences from SI Swimsuit partners.”
Essentially, it’s a Sports Illustrates Swimsuit bonanza, replete with marketing opportunities aplenty for brands like Lexus and Schick.
No matter, because you are the kind of person that willfully seeks out the moment when you can get a beard shave from someone with absolutely no practice whatsoever.
Here is how things went down in 2015:
If this event is like last year’s you can awkwardly play Connect Four with an amazingly beautiful human being.
How can you pass up that story?
Brendan Ripp, publisher of Sports Illustrated Group, offered the following: “Given the widespread popularity of Sports Illustrated Swimsuit, it’s thrilling to take this franchise to the next level with more real life experiences for the many passionate fans out there.”
If anything, getting on out to see a bunch of swimsuit models will help you forget that you are otherwise inundated by inclement weather. Heck, bring a bathing suit while you’re at it.
