Julie Bowen was recently in Australia filming a special vacation episode of "Modern Family."
With the episode quickly approaching (it airs tonight!), Julie took some time to reflect on her experiences in Australia with Nova's Fitzy & Wippa.
The 44-year-old actress, who plays Claire Dunphy on the show, had many positive things to say about being Down Under.
She first admitted she found the average Australian to be quite attractive.
"It’s frightening," she said during the radio interview, "the first time I came to LA I thought 'what do they do to the old and the uglies,' and I thought the exact same thing when I came to Australia!"
She also revealed she teared up when climbing the iconic Sydney Harbour Bridge, saying "you look down and all you see is water and trains passing between your feet. I turned around to Ty Burrell...and I said with tears running down my face '...my body won't move!'"
The special episode of "Modern Family," appropriately titled "Australia," will air Wednesday, April 23 at 9 p.m. ET.
During the episode, the entire family tags along as Phil fulfills his mom's wish for him to return to his roots and visit the country where he was conceived, Australia. Unfortunately, Phil's attempts to embrace his native land are met by a lot of rejection, while Jay (Ed O'Neill) and Claire let work eat into vacation time, and Mitch (Jesse Tyler Ferguson) and Cam (Eric Stonestreet) get reacquainted with an old friend they can't stand but is now a big-time celebrity.
