The World Drops Its Pants For Annual Subway Party

The annual No Pants Subway Ride tradition continued without a hitch or, well, pants.
As many of you realized rather quickly on Sunday, many people around the world decided to take the subway without the aid of pants.
And if you have never seen the ensuing madness, social media helps us out by illustrating what happens when a quirky idea becomes a global sensation.
As The Guardian reminds, Improv Everywhere conjured the idea of riding the subway pantless in 2002.
Some 16 years later and we have this:

Improv Everywhere celebrated this past weekend’s festivities with a video of their own.
As the video explains, the notion of riding public transportation without the constraints that are pants is a wildly popular idea.
It’s now something enjoyed in 60 cities across 25 countries, according to the comedy troupe.
The Guardian quotes event official Jesse Good who explains: “We want to give New Yorkers a reason to look up from their papers, from their phones, and experience something that’s a little different than their average run-of-the-mill stuff.”
Then again, perhaps people just hate pants.
