Traveling through airport security can be a chaotic ordeal for any traveler, but it’s made even worse when you’re randomly selected for a more thorough pat down.
According to TMZ.com, popular musical artist Gwen Stefani was subjected to a full security screening as she made her way through Los Angeles International Airport Tuesday.
The tabloid shared photographs of Stefani being selected by Transportation Security Administration officers for an extensive security screening, which included a 90-second pat down and an extra wand screening after going through a full-body scan.
Once Stefani completed the security screening process, she was permitted to continue on her way without incident.
While critics will scoff about Stefani being stopped at LAX, TSA officials might have reason to be overly cautious these days. The agency reportedly failed to detect 80 percent of the test weapons smuggled through security checkpoints during a recent series of tests at airports across the United States.

To their credit, TSA officers also managed to confiscate nearly 3,400 guns at airport security checkpoints in 2016, with an astonishing 2,815 of those weapons being loaded.
