Before Amy Winehouse was an International sensation, she was simply a woman enjoying a holiday trip to New York City.
Well, at one moment in time she was. Rolling Stone takes us back to that time by spotting the following video that features the late singer as she embarked on a tour of Manhattan, enjoying the sights and sounds like any tourist might.
As the report states, the home video release for “Amy,” a documentary that chronicles the life and career of Winehouse, will also include behind-the-scenes footage.
One such clip that will come in tandem with the Dec. 1 release is the following home video.
As Rolling Stone notes, this trip took place before Winehouse unveiled her album “Back to Black,” which launched her into the realm of worldwide superstar.
Incidentally, that kind of fame may have precluded her from what looks to be an intimate and peaceful moment to walk around the city.
As for the WWE Restaurant that Winehouse references in the video, it was located at “the Paramount Theatre building on 43th Street and Broadway.”
As NYC Tourist states, the location was around from 1999 to 2003 when it was shuttered. That means this video may very well have been taken prior to Winehouse’s “Frank,” which dropped on October 20, 2003.
In either case, we get a brief glimpse of a budding artist just a few years away from enormous fame.
The video might be brief, but it is no less captivating for fans of her music.
