Woody Harrelson’s Crazy London Night Turns Into Insane ‘Lost in London Live’
Entertainment Gabe Zaldivar January 19, 2017

It’s an idea just crazy enough to work.
Woody Harrelson, the actor who you know from such work as “Cheers,” “White Men Can’t Jump” and “Zombieland,” is about to open his next movie on Thursday, January 19.
This is no generic weekend opening, however. As many of you know, Harrelson is about to embark on a unique experience as “Lost in London Live” is exactly what it sounds like: a film shot completely live and streamed simultaneously to theaters around the world.
It’s a Broadway play for the modern age, but the stage, in this case, is a wide swath of London.
As The Telegraph and the following trailer remind, the idea was borne out of an experience amid the always-inspirational streets of London.
As noted by The Telegraph, a rather inauspicious night in London actually may lead to one of the more remarkable film experiences for audiences who have procured tickets to the live showing on Thursday night through Fathom Events.
The report reminds that the actor hopped into a taxi back in 2002 after London rehearsals. A drunken Harrelson kicked and trashed the inside of said cab before bolting.
The Telegraph explains: “After smashing a door handle and an ashtray, the then-40-year-old forces his way out of the taxi, and immediately hops into another one, with (cab driver, Les) Dartnell giving chase through central London. Eventually, the police intercept Harrelson, the actor having fled the second taxi on foot, and he spends the night in a cell. (All charges are dropped after a month when he pays Dartnell £550 for the repairs.)”
Then again, that night may have been just that, a dreadful learning experience that was best left forgotten.
We will not know until Harrelson, Owen Wilson and other cast and crew gather around a lone camera that has just enough storage to cover the duration of the film.

Producer Vicki Betihavas states a wide area of London will be utilized starting around two in the morning on Friday, local time: “Just to give you an idea of the kind of scale there are 650 people on our catering bill. There are 300 crew – production and technical – and 320 extras. And the reason for that is unlike an enormous film, which has a small team moving day to day, scene to scene, we’ve got 14 locations and there are countless things that go on within those locations.”
Those fortunate enough to get on out to the theater will be transported to London during the witching hours when partygoers and, it would seem, brave filmmakers take to the streets of London to engage in something that may be brilliant, astounding or just plain insane.
As we know, however, traipsing around London for whatever reason is never a bad idea.
