Cassie De Pecol has a unique perspective on this world after having visited 196 of its countries.
De Pecol took to Twitter Friday to regale followers with some advice and sage wisdom from a travel expert who holds the title of fastest person to visit every nation on the planet-she is also the first woman to hold the distinction of seeing every country.
De Pecol invited fans and fellow travelers to chime in on social media June 16, offering a wonderful giveaway to one lucky person in the form of a $100 gift card or a basket of travel gear.
It was all part of her collaboration with AIG Travel and De Pecol's continued drive to spread the word about the power and necessity of sustainable, responsible travel.
TravelPulse covered her amazing journey back in February, an itinerary that demanded 196 countries in 18 months, 26 days-known as Expedition 196.
At the time, De Pecol explained that she was determined to offset the carbon footprint of such an endeavor, via CNN: "It's tough to figure out to get permission to plant a tree in a lot of countries, but I've been trying to do that as much as possible. I've planted close to 50 trees now but there's about 500 more, so that's just a goal."

Travel comes in so many different flavors. One of the more immersive and eye-opening remains leaving the house all on your lonesome.
As De Pecol explains, you won't be lonely for long: There is a great, big world out there that is ready to welcome you with open arms.
It's precisely because of its people that we should also be far more conscious about the effects we are having on the planet. It's the only one we have, and, like De Pecol, we will continue to look after it and attempt to see as much of it as we can.
