This is one invitation you don’t want to refuse because the Mouse knows how to party.
The winter holiday event for media at Disneyland Resort was a blast. Even with an unseasonal downpour and cold front causing temperatures in the Southland to drop into the 30’s and 40’s, invited members of the media and their family gathered to honor the seasonal changes at Disneyland.
The festivities began at 10 a.m. on Sat., Dec. 7 at Stage 17 in Hollywood Land of Disney’s California Adventure theme park in Anaheim.
The beloved main characters – Mickey, Minnie, Daisy and Donald – all dressed in their holiday get-up visited the party and were available for photos.
DJ Clark M. Chuka, president of Music by Request, rocked the house with trivia games, music, and a silly patter that kept everyone entertained against a magical backdrop of a Disney holiday-themed set and props perfect for photo opportunities.
Disney-themed food, like Mickey Mouse shaped hot pretzels and cupcakes with blue frosting for the newly released animated film "Frozen", was free to all.

Airbrush-tattoos, face painting, illustrated cartoon caricatures, and carnival style-games kept everyone busy until 2 p.m. when the festivities wound down.
At that point, guests were encouraged to enjoy the winter spectaculars around the two theme parks.

To celebrate the winter holiday season, Disneyland Resort outdoes itself every year. The 2013 season is no different.
Two new attractions debuted this year: World of Color - Winter Dreams and “Disney iViva Navidad” at Disney California Adventure.
At Disneyland, the traditional Christmas Parade, Jingle Cruise, Snowfall, and Holiday Magic Fireworks were in place, too.
The “Small World” ride was redolent with lights – 300,000 multi-colored bulbs – that dazzle you the minute the indoor boat ride ends and gently deposits you back onto the dock.
There’s so much to see and do that is spectacular at Disneyland during the holiday season that it’s surely worth planning a vacation around.

Daisy Duck and Thea Klapwald share a moment as the party gets into swing. It's a good thing Daisy was dressed warm - temps dipped into the 30's and 40's in the Southland in an unseasonal cold front. Hot chocolate and coffee were the big winners of the day.
