Longtime travel experts Arthur and Pauline Frommer are partnering with travel insurance supplier Allianz Global Assistance on a 10-city January tour to promote the re-launch of their printed consumer travel guides.
Arthur Frommer re-acquired the rights to publish the Frommers guides from Google in December. The Internet giant, which purchased Frommers from John Wiley & Sons in 2012 for a reported $22 million, had ended production of the printed guides after integrating the content into its search engine.
The father-and-daughter travel authorities will visit book stores in various cities including Miami, Chicago, New Orleans and San Francisco to discuss travel trends including top vacation spots for 2014, ways to avoid skyrocketing airfare costs, and family travel destinations. The Frommers have published 30 travel guides for 2014, available in print and e-book formats.
“We’re honored to be sponsoring the tour that will re-launch the world-famous Frommer’s travel guides,” said Alan Josephs, chief marketing officer at Allianz Global Assistance.
