Features & Advice Janeen Christoff September 07, 2016

If you have been in a store lately, you have noticed that Halloween—though still about two months away—is already upon us and that means that Thanksgiving and Christmas (if not already here in your hearts and minds) are coming soon.
While it may seem early or even premature to consider holiday travel, many people are already making plans, and for those festive and well-planned souls, WSVN News in Miami has some tips.
“According to experts, when it comes to airfare, if you invest now, you’ll be thankful for those Thanksgiving travel rates later,” notes the news agency.
“I looked up the numbers just now, and it’s a great time, starting Monday morning, I would call,” Gus Machado, with Brickell Travel, told WSVN.
Some of the tips in addition to booking well in advance include packing light.
“I would do carry on as much as possible,” said Machado. “Definitely carry on. There’s so much luggage, and you don’t know the weather, with rain and stuff, so definitely carry on as much as possible.”
Mated also suggested a few tips for booking air travel to net the maximum savings.
“Set up price alerts on your phone to alert you when prices take a dip,” they recommend.
They also note that flying on the holiday is another way to save.
