Looking for a night to let loose and create a few memories that you probably don't share in polite company? Forget about the typical dance clubs and make your way to these unique discos that will be as memorable as they are spectacular.
From the party nation of Ibiza to the streets of London, here are 10 extraordinary places that offer surprises, peculiar ambiances and most of all a good old time.
San Rafael, Ibiza: Privilege
There is a reason why Ibiza is dubbed the greatest party destination in the world and why long lines are often seen circling its most exotic hotspots. At Privilege this is no different. It is as tantalizing as it is adrenaline-charged, providing an eyeful of seductive dancers exciting the crowd in scantily dressed outfits that equally matches their alluring performances.
As the world’s biggest nightclub, it is best you come prepared to get down because only the most avid partiers are allowed inside. And if you find yourself staring at the flame jugglers or trapeze entertainers, it is all in fun as surprises often occur around every corner at Privilege, which is not only the greatest party but a grand show.
Shanghai, China: Cirque Le Soir
Forget about dancing the night away until the wee hours of the morning because at Cirque Le Soir there is so much more to experience. This club goes the extra mile to produce an exhilarating fist-pumping party scene by transforming the circus into a one-of-a-kind nightspot. From the moment you arrive a ringmaster makes an astounding impression with a formal greeting. Soon after, a clown or another mystical character, including the champagne thunder drumme,r whisks you into an eye-popping, jaw-dropping atmosphere.
Acrobatic performers as well as burlesque dancers take center stage with incredible movements that will make the dancing fool stop and stare in admiration. Cirque Le Soir is also adorned in VIP sections and a catwalk. Not only are there makeup artists to transform your look, but if you suddenly inhale the rich smell of popcorn, follow your nose to the funfair area for the buttery snack and to play around on the candy floss machines.
Russia: CUCKOO Club
If you’re wondering where to find the longest bar fully stocked with over 100 topnotch spirits in Russia, look no further than CUCKOO Club.
You’ll go nuts or cuckoo for the go go dancers lustfully strutting their stuff to make the crowds go wild. Housed in a historic building, the club incorporates an antique décor and an energetic vibe enhanced by world-class DJs from Australia, Europe and the U.S. And if you’ve worked up a sweat from dancing all night long, the club boasts a swimming pool located on its terrace perfect for a quick dip.
A fixture on any list of the world's best clubs, CUCKOO takes extraordinary lengths to make sure its partygoers experience an exclusivity they won’t find anywhere else.
Brazil: Warung Beach Club
We have all been to a club or two, but how many of us can say we have partied in the jungle? The Atlantic Forest dances to the hypnotic sounds of techno beats bombastically echo from the Warung Beach Club’s tepee-style design.
Here, the colorful sprit of Brazil rumbles through the dense trees and creates a spellbinding atmosphere that is just as enticing as the natural beauty that encompasses the club. With DJs posted behind their spin tables, Warung Beach Club causes die-hard partiers to bum rush the dance floor with one thing in mind: absolute pandemonium. Although getting to this unique hotspot is an extensive journey, its extraordinary setting will be worth the visit.
Santo Domingo, Dominican Republic: Guacara Taina
When it comes to Guacara Taina, its experiences are intensified by its underground location. The dance club is nestled within a cave, which is illuminated in colorful splinters of light bouncing off the cave’s stalactites, producing such a dynamic presence that even the bats of the cave appear to be breakdancing.
At more than a million years old and situated about 60 feet below the surface, its rock interior allows music to ricochet off the walls creating great vibrations. In this eccentric grotto, not only will you be compelled to dance the merengue but test your appetite on local rum as well as pig leg sandwiches — that is, if you’re so hungry from dancing you could eat a pig’s leg.
Paris, France: Le Batofar
When the small boat was first commissioned, no one expected it would abandon its roots as a light vessel and transform into one of the France’s hottest nightspots. Docked on the banks of the Seine, Le Batofar pioneered Paris’ “night club on the boat” movement and has advanced into an edgy hang-out spot for night owls hoping to rock the boat by dancing to the mixes of acclaimed DJs as well as Jazz and hop-hop hits. Along with dazzling views of France’s waterscape, the tugboat also houses a restaurant and café in addition to trendy spaces for folks who just want to relax their sea legs.
London: Icebar
After you’ve carefully picked out your outfit and perfectly styled your hair, a trip to the Icebar accessorizes your stylish ensemble with an oversized jacket. But you won’t be too upset once you step into the subzero temperatures of the bar. From the walls to the fully-stocked bar, its entire structure is composed of — you guessed it — ice!
Understandably, it takes a lot of courage to step inside of its chilling nightspot, which provides a great service to its guests by offering an experience outside of the norm. However, with its glasses also meticulously carved out of the frozen particle, your drinks will always be served on the rocks.
Bodrum, Turkey: Halikarnas
If you are tired of ruining your expensive hair style and sweating through your clothes in the cramped spaces of overcrowded dance halls, then Halikarnas may just be the perfect disco for you. As one of the largest open-air clubs of its kind, you will be able to move around freely since it is big enough to fit up to 10,000 partygoers also wanting to dance beneath the diamond-filled sky without looking drenched.
Lapped in Romanesque designs, Halikarnas is a chic location ideal for rubbing elbows with locals without actually rubbing elbows.
The Maldives: Subsix
In order to dance the night away, you’ll have to take a dive in the Indian Ocean. But your plunge will be rewarded with an undersea adventure met with panoramic views of the Maldives’ blue depths. Even the coral reefs and sea creatures outside the window will seem to dance.
With renowned DJs skillfully raising partygoers out of their seats and unto the dance floor, Subsix is not only the first of its kind, but takes the club experience to all new heights (or in this case lows) by creating an oasis for all-night partiers to dance in harmony with the motion of the ocean.
London: Public Life
Whoever said public toilets would never make a great hotspot have never been to Public Life. Once again we’ve landed in London for another off-the-wall party scene.
Although its dance area is quite small, it continuously lures a multitude of curious socialites looking for a peculiar experience to dance the night away. Even if you are not too keen on the idea, at least you can say you’ve partied in a bathroom.
