Coming off a year of 20 percent growth in the region, Virtuoso is expanding and deepening its commitment in the Australian and Asian markets.
As part of that increased focus and expansion, the global luxury travel network just announced two key promotions to its APAC team.
Evan Pierce and Cristina Magni have been promoted to regional director roles. Pierce will relocate to Singapore to head up Virtuoso's Asia effort, while Magni is to remain in Sydney in order to continue driving success and growth there.
“Virtuoso has witnessed a strong performance in the Asia Pacific region over the past five years and has made the commitment to reward this success by further investment in our in-market resources,” Virtuoso APAC Managing Director, Michael Londregan said in a statement. “The local team has been instrumental in growing our business by working with members to ensure Virtuoso programs deliver competitive advantages for their clients.
Though Virtuoso has been in business for 15 years, its international expansion effort is only about five years old.
Asia-Pacific is one of Virtuoso’s newer markets and among its fastest growing. The company increased revenue in the region 21 percent in 2017 and sees unlimited potential going forward in Australia, New Zealand, and Asia.
“Evan will lead our ongoing expansion with a key focus on the development of our existing members and the targeted expansion into the complex China market,” said Londregan. “Cristina will continue the management of our member programs in Australia and New Zealand where we expect significant performance growth in what must be described as both a contested and commoditizing landscape."
Virtuoso currently has travel agency members in more than 45 countries.
