A Sophisticated Stay in the Heart of Queenstown
Hotel & Resort Janeen Christoff January 25, 2018

The dramatic peaks of New Zealand’s South Island continue to have starring roles in theaters around the world and will be making the rounds again when “A Wrinkle in Time” debuts this spring.
Travelers are once again set to be inspired by the country’s surreal landscapes on the big screen, and there’s no better place to experience them in real life than from the stunning new QT Queenstown.
The QT brand is known for sophisticated, edgy lodging options with properties in Wellington, New Zealand; and Melbourne, Canberra and Port Douglas, Australia.
Its newest hotel, which opened in December, follows this trendy vibe.
Queenstown is New Zealand’s adventure playground, and the hotel’s whimsical features play on the area's outdoorsy nature. A fun-loving lobby sets the mood and welcomes visitors with bright-colored couches, a fireplace suspended from the ceiling and a colorful mural.
The property offers 69 guestrooms designed by Nic Graham, with interiors that blend elegant tones of lavender and gray with outdoor elements that include light wood floors and faux fur coverings.
Floor-to-ceiling windows look out to the lake and mountains, bringing the stunning natural environment into the room. A copper bar set with all the ingredients for a good time encourages guests to stay in and admire the peaks of the Remarkables and the crystal-clear water of Lake Wakatipu. A large, flat-screen television with on-demand movies is perfect for cozying up for a night in.

Rooms also feature signature QT Gel Beds that are ideal for a good night’s sleep, large bathrooms with double sinks, a shower and a tub as well as bathrobes and slippers to make guests feel right at home.
Even if you are not staying at the QT Queenstown, it’s worth stopping in to dine at the hotel’s signature restaurant, Bazaar.
The interactive marketplace offers an innovative dining experience that does away with the menu and brings guests into the heart of the kitchen. Diners can select from buffet-style items or watch as their meals are made by chefs before their eyes. Items can be customized to each person’s liking.
There are a wide range of international cuisines to choose from, beautiful cuts of meat, southeast Asian flavors as well as kid-friendly goodies.

Be sure to save room for dessert. Adults may love the more sophisticated selections, though the young (and young at heart) will head straight to the sundae bar.
Guests can also stop in at Reds Bar for a drink or make the short walk into town where a vibrant nightlife awaits.
