Accor’s Novotel New York Does $85 Million Makeover

Accor’s Novotel New York will undergo an $85 million that will feature a new restaurant, Supernova and an outdoor terrace. The hotel will not close for the renovation, which is scheduled to be completed in September. The renovation is being financed by the owners, Charters Lodging Group and Apollo Global Management. The design firm Stonehill & Taylor is spearheading the renovation effort.
The lobby redesign will feature stylish seating and constant imagery flashing on LCD flat screens. The renovation will further integrate the lobby and 7th floor public spaces into a fluid and sophisticated space with striking views of Times Square.
The hotels outdoor will comprise 5,700 square feet of social space on the seventh floor, feature views of Times Square.
The Supernova restaurant will feature traditional American comfort food and classic American cocktails with an international twist. The restaurant experience will be enhanced by the hotel’s partnership with Doughnuttery, and will feature a Doughnut Dip Trolley cart with special dipping sauces. Specialty cocktails from the bar will be paired with doughnuts.
The Novotel’s 480 guest rooms will be refashioned sleek furnishings, clean lines and striking colors. New features 46-inch flat screen televisions, WiFi, ample workspace with iPad docking stations and soundproof windows that open and close.
