THE PULSE: AFAR Media introduces the AFAR Collection of hotels focused on experiential travel, chosen "for their ability to inspire and enable deeper, richer, and more meaningful experiences."
WHY IT RATES: So far, 19 hotels are included in the collection, including The Cosmopolitan in Las Vegas, which was just sold to Blackstone Real Estate Partners. The AFAR Collection is yet another example of companies catering to the trend of guests desiring a more interactive destination experience. Those guests include the heavily targeted Millennial generation. - Ryan Rudnansky, TravelPulse West Coast hotels editor
Today, AFAR Media, the leader in experiential travel, announced the launch of the AFAR Collection, a unique group of hotels joined in pursuit of the luxury of experience. The AFAR Collection offers select hotel partners an opportunity to align with AFAR, increase its visibility to AFAR's highly qualified travel audience, and digital guides to great local experiences in and around the member hotels. The AFAR Collection offers discerning travelers access to a highly curated list of hotels around the globe that will help cut through the clutter of travel sites that speak to the masses.
"Today's discerning travelers are looking for the distinctive. They want to stay in the best places and experience the best of what a destination has to offer. They don't want to stay in average places or do what the average tourist does. They want to get beneath the surface and see a place with a local set of eyes," said AFAR Co-founder and Chief Product Officer, Joe Diaz. "The AFAR Collection represents hotels that share AFAR's dedication to the luxury of experience."
The curated group of hotel partners was selected for their ability to inspire and enable deeper, richer, and more meaningful experiences.
