Will it be completely “mad?” Of course! Will you want to miss it? Naaah. Beacher’s Madhouse Las Vegas is the must-have ticket for saying adios to 2013 and hola to the New Year.
Beacher’s Madhouse Las Vegas kicks off at the MGM Grand Las Vegas hotel and casino where a brand new theater has been built to Beacher’s specifications.
Beacher credits Scott Sibella, president and chief operating officer MGM Grand, for the vision to embrace the Madhouse concept and for giving it a new home. The theatre is an 8,500-square-foot performance space with one main stage and 15 smaller stages.
The new show kicks off with a grand opening event Dec. 27 through Dec. 31 with two shows nightly at 8 p.m. and 10:30 p.m. The Dec. 27 shows will be hosted by Miley Cyrus. After that, check the schedule for show dates and times.
I caught up with Jeff Beacher, the master of madness himself in Los Angeles, where his long-running hit show "Beacher’s Madhouse LA" has been in residence at the Hollywood Roosevelt Hotel’s theater.
Thea Klapwald: What changes are you making for the Vegas show?
Jeff Beacher: Beacher's Madhouse Las Vegas will feature new added elements and exciting never-before-seen talent and acts, such as the new Mini-Britney, that continuously blow everyone's mind.
The iconic acts from Beacher's Madhouse LA will also have a presence in Las Vegas such as Mini-Miley, Mini-Kanye West, Mini-Psy, the world’s tallest stripper, Amazon Ashley, and Busty Heart, who crushes watermelons and cans on-stage with her breasts.
TK: What was the inspiration behind playing in Vegas?
JB: My plan when we left Las Vegas was to take Beacher's Madhouse on-tour across the country. Two years later, spanning 81 cities and selling over 2 million tickets, we were fortunate enough to open our first theater in Hollywood at the iconic Roosevelt Hotel.
Beacher's Madhouse LA has been open now for three years and is the hottest venue in world. Expanding to Las Vegas at MGM Grand Hotel & Casino, is the perfect complement to LA, as the property is simply the biggest and best in Sin City.
The President of the MGM Grand, Scott Sibella, is also one of the most innovative and intelligent marketing executives in the world, and our partnership could not be a better fit for the return of Beacher's Madhouse to Las Vegas.
TK: Are you going to do any Elvis references while you’re in Vegas at the show?
JB: The King will definitely be making an appearance along-side other pop culture icons but they will all be under 4 feet tall.
TK: Have you played Vegas before? If so, when? If so, what’s the biggest difference between playing there and anywhere else?
JB: Inspired by the era of Vaudeville, it’s a true Madhouse and the talent we feature has the ability to wow audiences night after night. Beacher’s Madhouse Las Vegas provides Sin City revelers with endless entertainment in a high-energy nightlife setting that allows them to let loose and rub shoulders with Hollywood’s elite.
Especially unique to Las Vegas, an epic attraction of Beacher's Madhouse is the four flying little people that zoom around the room and deliver bottles to guest's tables. One flies out of a telephone booth, another gets shot out of a canon and the other two fly out of an elephant's butt.
TK: Do you make New Year’s Resolutions? If so, what’s your New Year’s Resolution for 2014?
JB: I never do, but this year I'm going to vow celibacy until I lose 100 pounds. Now that my show and 10 years of hard work has solidified us a theatre and massive deal at the MGM it's time to step up my health so I can live another 50 years and enjoy our Midget Playground we created!
TK: What’s the greatest common denominator in a Beacher fan?
JB: One thing I've come to understand from the millions of people I've entertained is that there is no common denominator at the Madhouse. Everyone who comes to experience the show wants to have a once-of-a-lifetime experience, and I'm happy to say we always deliver. From young Disney pop stars, to my elders like my 92-year-old Grandma Mildred who comes on tour with us a lot around the country.
TK: What’s your elevator pitch for your show?
JB: Beacher’s Madhouse pushes the boundaries of sexuality, entertainment and fantasy and it’s a destination where partygoers and A-listers alike can come to enjoy a show unlike anything they have ever seen before.
