Bedsonline Empowers Agents to Sell FIT
Hotel & Resort Janeen Christoff December 29, 2015

For agents looking to differentiate themselves in an increasingly competitive market of custom travel selling, Bedsonline provides a seamless solution. It is a one-stop shop where agents can gather a lot of information on an easy-to-use website through multiple product channels and combine them to create customized itineraries for clients.
The company sells globally, not just domestically, so the buying power is huge. It can pass on higher commissions on these components, and agents can add on and customize without doing a lot of work.
Bedsonline makes it easy for travel agents to stand out in the crowd by creating custom trips for clients. At a time when consumers are using the Internet to do research on their travels, when they talk to a travel agent they want custom programs designed just for them.
That’s where Bedsonline comes in as a tool for travel agents, allowing them to put together the pieces of a client’s custom vacation all in one place.
In a sense, Bedsonline is like the amazon.com of the travel industry. The only aspects it does not offer are cruise, rail and air.
Agents are encouraged to use current packages that they’ve booked as a framework to design a custom itinerary, taking an existing package and using Bedsonline to build off of that and make it better. Bedsonline gives agents the ability to create a completely custom FIT and charge a single package price.
All the documentation has the agents logo and branding, which reinforces the agent as the seller of the product. Bedsonline also has a lenient payment policy where clients can make individual deposits. It gives a lot of control to the travel agent.
A great example for an agent that is new to Bedsonline is to start by booking a pre- or post-cruise package. A cruise line’s pre- and post-cruise options can sometimes be cumbersome. They arrange for a transfer and the hotel, but you don’t necessarily know which property your clients are staying at and the agent doesn’t have a lot of control over the product.
With Bedsonline, agents can earn 14 percent commission on the booking. They can choose the hotel for their client and they can often get a better rate than the cruise lines are charging. Plus, they can mark up the price and charge a service fee and still give a lower rate than the cruise line by booking with Bedsonline.
Further, Bedsonline also offers agents support with an emergency 24/7 line, meaning if there were changes or notifications the company can contact the agent and help make any changes.
Bedsonline also rewards its agents. They give 10 percent commission on travel extras and destination services such as transfers, tickets, tours, car rental and 14 percent on accommodations. The company also features the Bedsonline Rewards Card program, a prepaid MasterCard that is reloadable. With the first 25 consumer nights booked, agents receive a card and then it is reloaded for every 25 rooms after that.
Similar to Amazon, the more you buy the more bonus points you get. Bedsonline is constantly make adjustments to make selling easier. It’s designed for the agent, by the agents. Its mantra is simple – they can’t succeed if you don’t succeed.
