All eyes will be on Washington, D.C. Friday as President-elect Donald Trump is sworn into office on Inauguration Day. Before then, a handful of politicians and celebrities are planning a protest outside of New York City's Trump International Hotel & Tower, which is located just a half-mile from Trump's home inside Trump Tower.
Filmmaker Michael Moore confirmed the event in a Twitter post on Saturday.

According to NBC New York, Moore will be joined by New York City Mayor Bill de Blasio and Rev. Al Sharpton, among others. It's anticipated that thousands will participate in the protest, which groups like Greenpeace and MoveOn are helping to organize.
In addition to opposing some of the controversial policies Trump has hinted at over the course of the presidential campaign and in the months since his victory over Hillary Clinton, protesters aim to encourage local governments to take their own approach to various policies.

"We are sending a message to Washington that we will fight, at every step, discrimination and harmful policies, today, tomorrow and every day," said actor Mark Ruffalo in a statement, adding that demonstrators "are coming together to stand up for one another, as we will do every day, to protect the values we hold dear."
Thursday won't be the first time a protest has taken place outside of a Trump-branded hotel in wake of Trump's victory this past November. Protests broke out at various Trump hotels, including properties in D.C. and Chicago, two months ago following Trump's shocking upset.
In November, the Federal Aviation Administration (FAA) also issued flight restrictions over Trump Tower, prohibiting pilots from flying within two nautical miles of the southeastern corner of Central Park or four blocks north of Trump Tower.
The Notice to Airmen was extended through Friday when Trump moves into the White House.
