The Hyatt Regency Tamaya Resort & Spa, a luxury property in New Mexico’s Santa Ana Pueblo, has just completed a $2.5 million renovation of its reception, living room and public spaces.
The effort transformed the resort’s interior color palette in order to brighten welcome areas and included the addition of new windows in the property’s living room to allow more sunlight, while also creating better views of the nearby Sandia Mountains.
“The renovation of the resort’s public spaces really enhances the welcome experience our guests receive when they arrive at Tamaya,” said Herb Rackliff, general manager at Hyatt Regency Tamaya Resort & Spa. “When guests walk through our front door, they are greeted with a bright and welcoming living room filled with natural sunlight and a panoramic backdrop of the Sandia Mountains. The resort’s reception area also underwent major changes in order to provide a more distinctive and customized check-in experience.”
The heart of the property, the Hyatt Regency Tamaya’s living room was also outfitted with slightly more modern furniture surrounding a fireplace, creating a place where guests can relax in a comfortable chair while also enjoying mountain views. Just outside the living room is a patio that has also been updated with new seating.

The New Mexico resort’s reception area meanwhile, was updated to create a unique and modern check-in experience. That effort included replacing a large reception desk with three custom-built reception pods made of marble and wood, with a pueblo-inspired design.
The reception area also now features a backdrop wall filled with traditional Native American artwork and artifacts including woven baskets and hand-carved wooden ladders.
As part of the renovation, a new area was added to the lobby. Known as “Make Space” the social area features new and comfortable seating, tables, and desks, as well as easily-accessible power outlets and USB charging stations.

The latest updates to the resort’s public spaces follow a $5 million guest room renovation completed in 2017. Guestrooms at the Hyatt property were refreshed with new furniture including beds, lounges, and desk chairs, as well as new carpet, paint, light dimmers, artwork, and more.
The resort is continuing to make additional enhancements including renovating its meeting spaces and a Santa Ana Pueblo tribal artifact display, both of which are expected to be complete by year’s end.
The Hyatt Regency Tamaya Resort and Spa is located on 500 acres on the Pueblo of Santa Ana, located between Santa Fe and Albuquerque. It is adjacent to the Sandia Mountains along the Rio Grande.
