InterContinental Hotels Group’s Holiday Inn brand has expanded its presence in Colombia with two new properties, the Holiday Inn Bucaramanga and Holiday Inn Cucuta, located in the northeastern Colombian cities of Bucaramanga and Cucuta. The hotels will open in 2014 and add 285 rooms to IHG’s hotel portfolio in Colombia, which currently includes four Holiday Inn and Holiday Inn Express hotels. The new projects will bring IHG’s Colombia hotel pipeline in Colombia to five properties.
The 187-room Holiday Inn Bucaramanga will be incorporated in a mixed-use complex that will include the Cacique shopping mall, restaurants, movie theaters, a gym and a 17-story office building. The hotel will feature a business center, bar, restaurant, gym, indoor pool, and 11,000 square feet of meeting space.
The 98-room, 14-story Holiday Inn Cucuta hotel will be located in front of the Ventura Plaza, one of the city’s largest and most prestigious shopping centers. The hotel will feature a restaurant, business center, meeting rooms, outdoor swimming pool, and fitness facility. The property will also feature direct access to the city’s main highway, connecting Cucuta to the international airport.
