LA Hotel Rolls Out Doggie Day Spa Package

Finding glamor comes easy in L.A., a city that practically invented the red carpet.
Whether it’s a couture shopping experience, a deep dive into the city’s trendy but under-rated dining scene or an afternoon relaxing and rejuvenating at a local spa, there are plenty of ways to live like a celebrity in Los Angeles.
But for people traveling with their pooch, the luxe lifestyle can be a little harder to come by.
Sure, L.A. has its share of awesome pet-friendly hotels, and many restaurants with outdoor patios allow you to bring along Fido. But what are you going to do with Penny Pooch, while you’re shopping, primping and glamming it up?
One property, the pet-friendly Orlando Hotel, located on 3rd Street, midway between Hollywood and Beverly Hills, has created the perfect solution with its “Urban Spa Getaway for Pooch and You,” which includes a little pampering for both mom and pooch.
Although 3rd Street isn’t that well known by visitors, some of its best offerings are found near the Orlando Hotel, which is located between two iconic L.A. attractions: The Beverly Center and the 80-plus-year-old Original Farmers Market, Los Angeles. In the mile-long-stretch that separates the two sites, there are plenty of local eateries, day spas and chic, indie boutiques worth checking out.
And while the Urban Spa Getaway package is being billed as an ideal retreat for pooch and parent, in fact, it really offers a composite look at some of the best finds along Third Street.
For the pooch, the package includes a spa day at Vanderpump Pets, including a shampoo and condition, a brush and blowout and a paw massage and "pawdicure.” If the name sounds familiar, owner Lisa Vanderpump, an avid philanthropist and restauranteur, starred in the hit Bravo TV series, "The Real Housewives of Beverly Hills."
While the pup gets glammed up, mom (or dad) will enjoy “A Red Carpet Facial” from nearby Face Haus; a wash and blowout at the 3rd Street location of Dry Bar, a spray tan from Sugared & Bronzed and a bottle of cold-pressed juice from Juice Served Here.
Also included in the package is a hiking map for nearby, dog-friendly Runyon Canyon, which sports some of the best views of the greater Los Angeles area. The package starts from $350 per night in a Standard Room, $370 in a Deluxe Room and $390 for a Patio Room.

Incidentally, if you do make The Orlando Hotel your home away from home, it’s good to know that the nearby Original Farmers Market, Los Angeles is also a dog-friendly environment. Here you can choose from more than 50 eateries—and two outdoor bars—and since most of the dining space is located in a convivial, outdoor setting, your pup is welcome to tag along.
The Market’s Bar 326 was voted “Best Bar to Take Your Baby” by readers of L.A. Weekly, and that certainly applies if your baby has four legs. Before you leave, also check out The Dog Bakery, which serves up custom birthday cakes, fresh-baked treats, and occasionally, unique “I Love LA” treats to bring home as a souvenir.
