In 1977, a little-known singer/songwriter named Jimmy Buffet was cast into the public spotlight when his now iconic song, Margaritaville, became a hit.
As a tribute to that year, the 349-room Margaritaville Hollywood Beach Resort, which is scheduled to open in October, unveiled a Throwback to Paradise promotion with rates of $197.70 through Dec. 15. The offer, of course, also includes two welcome margaritas.
"We are excited to introduce Margaritaville Hollywood Beach Resort to guests for the first time," said Cate Farmer, the resort's general manager. "This offer provides guests with a unique way to experience 'Destination Paradise.'"
The 17-story property, which is set on the Hollywood Beach Boardwalk, will feature eight restaurants and bars, including a JWB Prime Steak & Seafood restaurant and a 5 o'Clock Somewhere Bar & Grill set on the Intracoastal Waterway. The Florida resort will also be equipped with a St. Somewhere Spa, three pools, amenities-laden cabanas and a FlowRider Double.
